Eisner Awards: Ulli Lust für Comic-Oscars nominiert

Die Berliner Zeichnerin und Autorin Ulli Lust hat bereits zahlreiche ausländische Ehrungen bekommen. Jetzt ist sie gleich zweifach für die wichtigsten Preise der US-Comicszene nominiert worden, die Eisner Awards.

In Deutschland und in Frankreich hat die aus Österreich stammende und in Berlin lebende Comicautorin Ulli Lust bereits zahlreiche Auszeichnungen für ihre autobiografische Erzählung „Heute ist der letzte Tag vom Rest Deines Lebens“ erhalten. Nun ist sie dabei, Nordamerika zu erobern. Nachdem sie in den vergangenen Monaten bereits auf zahlreichen Besten- und Nominierungslisten aufgetaucht ist, wurde „Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life“ am Dienstag für die höchste Auszeichnung nominiert, die die US-Comicindustrie zu vergeben hat, die Eisner Awards. Diese gelten als Oscars der Comicbranche.

Lust wird dort zum einen in der Kategorie Internationale Comics und zum anderen in der Kategorie Nichtfiktive Comics aufgeführt. Ob sie einen oder beide Preise gewinnt, wird bei der Comic-Con San Diego am 25. Juli bekanntgegeben. Eine derartige Ehrung für eine deutschsprachige Autorin ist ein Novum in der Geschichte des Preises. Vor einigen Jahren war bereits der Berliner Comicautor Reinhard Kleist mit seiner gezeichneten Johnny-Cash-Biografie in der Kategorie Internationale Comics nominiert, ging aber am Ende leer aus.
