Jens Bakker, CEO
Why are you exhibiting at Bread & Butter and what were and are your expectations?
We have divided our collection up over the past two or three years more strongly and partly redefined it. Our heritage collection, for example, is a fashion-orientated line, which is nevertheless really connected to Barbours roots. The collection catches the zeitgeist without considering short-term trends.
How do you try to incorporate developments in fashion without losing the brands background?
Barbour has existed since 1894 and can look back on a history rich in tradition. This year we’re celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Barbour International, which was worn by Steve McQueen for car racing and we’ll be launching numerous specials and new interpretations of the jacket in different colours and fabrics.
